Snowy Friday

Hello Friends!  We woke up today to our first real snow here in NYC.  It was surprisingly cold (it's been pretty mild here for a while) but very refreshing.  The sunlight this morning was extra bright with the reflection off the snow.

Penny and I stayed inside for most of the day.  We had plenty of cooking to do!  Latkes for lunch and to tuck away in the fridge for the weekend...

...and a special "Happy Friday" dinner to make: cheesy polenta topped with poached eggs and sun-dried tomato pesto along with a cranberry, walnut, spinach salad.  Mr. Mersydotes gave the meal whole-hearted approval! :)

And throughout the chilly afternoon, a couple of home-organization crochet projects to finish up.  The first was the famous Norwegian hanging basket pattern- perfect for the kitchen!

And then with a bit of extra t-shirt yarn, two little baskets for the desk to hold bits and bobs.

And finally, with the three of us curled up around the space heater and our one lamp, I finished up some little wooden bead bracelets with leftover yarn scraps and beads.

I wish the light were better, but our day have been rather gray- even with the snow-sparkle.  Hopefully the photos on the blog will be bright and light very soon!

Have a lovely evening,
~Mersydotes
